Recently, ACC, a local European power battery company, issued multiple purchase orders for lithium battery raw materials and lithium battery equipment, and many Chinese lithium battery companies won huge orders.

On May 4, Enjie shares announced that its subsidiary SEMCORP Hungary Kft signed a contract with ACC, agreeing to supply lithium battery separators to ACC for about 655 million euros (about 4.56 billion yuan) from 2024 to 2030.

Umicore also said that it has received an order from ACC, and its plant in Polanisa will supply ACC with the next generation of high-nickel cathode materials. The supply will meet the production needs of at least 46GWh lithium batteries before 2030.

In addition, Lithium battery equipment companies Pioneer Intelligence and Yinghe Technology have also received huge equipment purchase orders from ACC.

In 2020, Yinghe Technology announced that it has won the entire line order from ACC. Recently, Yinghe Technology announced that it has once again received an order for ACC lithium battery equipment, which will meet the demand for mass production equipment for the 13GWh battery production capacity of its French battery factory.

Leading Intelligence also announced that the company signed a strategic cooperation agreement with ACC to provide lithium battery equipment and solutions for its 14GWh battery factory.

Established in June 2020, ACC is mainly engaged in the development and production of electric vehicle battery cells and modules. Automaker Stellantis, Mercedes-Benz and energy company Total Energy each hold a one-third stake.

It is reported that ACC plans to build three factories with a production capacity of 40GWh in Germany, France and Italy respectively, and its total power battery production capacity will reach 120GWh by 2030.

The multiple purchase orders for lithium battery raw materials and equipment issued this time indicate that the power battery factory built by ACC in Europe is accelerating, and it is expected that more raw material and equipment purchase orders will be issued later.

It is worth noting that in addition to ACC, other local European battery companies, including Sweden's Northvolt, France's ACC, France's Verkor, Britain's Britishvolt, Norway's Freyr, Norway's Morrow, Italy's Italvolt, and Serbia's ElevenEs, are also accelerating their European power battery project construction. , will release a huge demand for lithium battery raw materials and equipment procurement.

At present, Europe is accelerating the construction of local power battery capacity, but the weak local supply chain has become the biggest constraint on the local production and supply of power batteries in Europe.

Under such circumstances, a group of Chinese lithium battery companies with the ability to "go out" have obtained good opportunities for development.

At present, Chinese lithium battery material companies, including Tianci Materials, Xinzhoubang, Jiangsu Guotai, Shida Shenghua, Dangsheng Technology, Zhongwei, Xingyuan Materials, and Kedali, have announced that they will build factories in Europe to provide customers with close Supporting services and enhancing international market competitiveness.

The above-mentioned lithium battery material companies are expected to enter the local supply chain of European power battery companies and become an important part of the construction of the local supply chain of European power batteries.

In addition, leading equipment companies including Lyric Robot, Hymson Laser, Pilot Intelligent, Jiatuo Intelligent, and Lianying Laser have also entered the supply chain of international car companies/power battery giants.

At the same time, Chinese and Korean battery companies including Ningde Times, Funeng Technology, Envision Power, Honeycomb Energy, LG New Energy, Samsung SDI, and SK On are also accelerating the pace of building factories in Europe. The above-mentioned battery companies will also require their Chinese suppliers to provide localized services for their European projects, thereby broadening the opportunities for Chinese lithium battery companies to participate in global market competition.
